The Angel: The Egyptian Spy Who Saved Israel [March-2022]
Marwan, a renowned Egyptian scholar who joined the Israeli army at the age of 22 and became a field medic, was best known for his efforts to counter the rise of pan-Arabism in the Middle East in the late 1950s and early 1960s, when, after the 1956 Suez War, the Egyptian government mobilized a powerful pan-Arab movement as a counter to the West’s NATO alliance.
